Essential Steps for Foreign Couples Planning a Wedding in Capri

Initial Preparations and Setting the Date 

To start, we’ll contact the Civil Status Officer in Capri to schedule your wedding date and the declaration of no impediments for non-resident foreign citizens.

This declaration generally occur the day before the wedding at the presence of a professional interpreter and without witnesses.

You will need the witnesses the day of the wedding along with the interpreter before the Major of the town who will recite you the section of the italian civil code dedicated to the civil wedding.

Required Documentation Foreign couples must provide specific documents to get married in Capri:

  • Affidavit or Nulla Osta: This must be made before the competen consular authority in Italy or if there is a specific agreement between Italy and your country the nulla osta shall be issued by your country of provenance. Submission of Documents: Documents must be submitted by us via email or P.E.C. at least 10 days before the wedding. Original documents should be presented at least one day before the ceremony, along with the passports of the spouses and witnesses.

Wedding Day Procedures On your wedding day, arrive at the chosen venue with your witnesses and interpreter at the scheduled time. The Civil Status Officer will conduct the ceremony in the presence of your chosen witnesses and interpreter.
