Identified since time immemorial as the Villa of the village of Affori, consisting of the main building on three floors from which short lateral bodies extend to delimit a small courtyard, Villa Litta Modignani experienced its moment of most extraordinary splendor during the 19th century, becoming one of the most renowned villas in the Milan countryside.
Surrounded at that time by a vast park much larger than the present one, it became the holiday residence destined for receptions for the Ambrosian upper middle class and a salon for intellectuals frequented by, among others, Alessandro Manzoni and Francesco Hayez.

Parts of the Monastery, which was remodeled several times and became a farmhouse in the late 1700s, still retain the architectural features of 15th-century Lombardy.
Its primitive core is found in the 15th-century monastery that Balzarino da Posterla, Matteo Visconti’s son-in-law, had built and then donated to the Olivetan monks. The location of Baggio was chosen because it was close to Milan and adequately protected by the not-far-away castle of Cusago.
Over time, the monastery saw its fortune and extension increase as rustic, and peasant dwellings gradually surrounded it.
